Travel Eats (Sydney, Australia): Quay

Having been placed on S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant list in 2010, 2011, and 2012, Quay has long been one of Australia’s most awarded restaurants.    It is situated in the dress circle of the harbour and has some of Sydney’s most spectacular views,  from the Opera House to the Harbour Bridge.

The food is created by executive chef, Peter Gilmore, who wonderfully balances texture, flavor, and composition.  A wide selection is offered on the lunch menu; and, diners are given a choice of having 3 courses or 4 courses.  Not sure what to choose?  Opt for the tasting menu which ensures you’ll be leaving no stone unturned.

Whatever you choose, remember to leave some room for dessert.  The Plum and Vanilla Snow Egg is a must try when at Quay.

    • Agree, it’s nice for a special event or celebration. The venue is beautiful during the daytime because of the views to the harbor. Unfortunately, there was the Queen Victoria ship on the day we went to Quay that blocked most of the view from inside the restaurant.
