Travel Eats (Boston, MA): Elephant Walk Culinary Lesson

Boston is a city that’s full of culinary adventures, especially if you’re looking to unleash the inner chef in you.  While there’s a bunch of Youtube cooking videos and step-by-step online recipes, sometimes joining an actual cooking class is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon with friends.  Even for those who are already regular cooks, there is no better way to hone your culinary skills than by learning hands-on from the creators of your favorite restaurant dishes.  So get ready to put on an apron, roll up your sleeves, and, of course, enjoy the fruits of your labor afterwards!

I signed up for a culinary class at The Elephant Walk located in Cambridge with a group of fellow classmates from my graduate school.  The Elephant Walk has three Greater Boston branches and a solid reputation for their French-Cambodian food.  They offer cooking classes at their Boston and Cambridge restaurants on the weekends year-round; and, these classes are led by their Executive Chefs.  Our group had a lesson with Chef Gérard Lopez who shared recipes to 3 popular dishes at his restaurant:  Salade de Fruits de Mer (Seafood Salad), Salmon con Vino Blanco (Salmon with White Wine), and Beef Loc Lac with Lime Sauce.

Be sure to check out The Elephant Walk’s website for a detailed schedule of their classes!
